Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2: when an electric motorcycle is no longer a compromise

There comes a point when we stop talking about electric motorcycles with a “yes, but”. We stop saying they are quiet, clean and good for the city, and that perhaps one day they will be more. The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 strikes that sentence out with a thick red marker. This is no longer an electric motorcycle that has to explain itself; it is a machine that can stir petrol-powered instincts too.

Here are the essentials: according to the factory EU specification, the Recon version delivers 30 kW of peak power, 100 Nm of motor torque, a top speed of 155 km/h according to the company’s test and 231 km of WMTC urban range. Its 10.3 kWh battery is not a footnote in this class—it is one of the motorcycle’s strongest arguments.

Why does it feel like such a big leap?

Because the F77 Mach 2 is more than an electric motorcycle with a larger battery. The entire package shows that Ultraviolette did not try to turn a scooter into a sports bike; the platform was designed from the outset for performance, stability and longer-distance use. A steel trellis frame, aluminium bulkhead, 41 mm inverted fork, Bosch dual-channel ABS and 17-inch road tyres: this machine speaks the language of motorcycling.

The best trick of an electric powertrain is still its instant torque. There is no pause for a gear change, no waiting for the revs and no “it will arrive in a moment”. Twist the throttle and the system responds immediately. On the Mach 2, this is not merely playful urban flexibility but a genuinely serious acceleration experience: the factory figure is 2.8 seconds from 0-60 km/h and 7.7 seconds from 0-100 km/h.

A battery that is not only large, but seriously protected

The 10.3 kWh SRB10 battery pack is a strong figure in itself, but the engineering behind it is just as important. Ultraviolette specifies an IP67-rated aluminium enclosure, a five-level safety system and cell-level protection. In other words, the goal was not only to fit plenty of energy into the motorcycle, but also to keep it under control despite heat, vibration, water and dust, with software monitoring.

This is especially important for electric motorcycles. Buyers ask not only how far a motorcycle can travel on one charge, but also how much confidence they can place in its battery after three years, five years or many tens of thousands of kilometres. The F77 EU specification includes a 5-year or 100,000 km UV Care battery and powertrain warranty, together with a 3-year or 30,000 km vehicle warranty.

Charging: useful arithmetic, not magic

With the Boost Charger, the factory figure for charging from 20-80 percent is 2.5 hours. That does not suddenly turn the Mach 2 into a five-minute petrol-station motorcycle, but it does mean that a longer lunch, an errand or a stop at your destination need not be empty waiting time. The point is not a dramatic promise, but that electric motorcycling becomes easier to plan.

Who is it for?

For riders who want an electric motorcycle without giving up the feel of a real motorcycle. For those who value character, acceleration and technology, and want a machine that remains confident beyond the edge of the city. The F77 Mach 2 is not for everyone, and that is exactly as it should be. It is not a compromise disguised as transport, but a strong statement: an electric motorcycle can be desirable, fast and serious at the same time.
